Mission: Creating True Peace

“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
(Rom. 1:7b)

Apostolic Letter Patris Corde: Only as a result of this acceptance, this reconciliation, can we begin to glimpse a broader history, a deeper meaning.

Everybody must have the longing for finding peace in life. There are many ways to get it. One of them is yoga which is very popular today. Any kind of yoga or meditation is taken to reach “mindfulness” or peaceful mind and heart. As a Christian, what can we do to find the true peace? Of course true peace is in the Lord. We can get the true peace by getting closer to Him, with prayer, silence, meditation and giving thanks. By giving thanks and accepting the life as it is, we will get peace in our heart. True peace only comes from pure, calm and open heart, a heart that is able to accept everything with thanks.

Apostle Paul in the first reading gave greetings of peace to the Church in Rome. He declared himself as the servant of Christ who was called to proclaim the Gospel. Paul gave affirmation to the Church in Rome, that they were too called to be belong to Jesus Christ, God’s chosen people and were made saints. Gods’s love and peace are with them. How about us who have been called through baptism, are we aware that through God’s love we are called to be God’s chosen saints?

Todays’s Gospel is talking about the sign of Jonah. God always presents special signs for everybody in their time. Every faithful person can experience it. The world today is facing her difficult time, where Covid-19 outbreak has hit and ravaged the world and many lives. Many got infected, it even caused death to our beloved people. What sign is this? We must repent and repent. We have get closer to God and begin to take action to save the earth we are living on.

Let us open ourselves, be sensitive to give thanks to every kindness from God, taking it as a sign that God is truly present in life. Thus, we can create true peace within ourselves. We also have to be reconciled to current situation by accepting Covid-19, but still remain alert in taking care of others and ourselves with daily health protocol. We should remember to be reconciled to the universe too, start to appreciate and treat them in a better way, stop destroying, exploiting, and start to care and protect the nature as a creature that God has entrusted to us. As written in Patris Corde document: Only as a result of this acceptance, this reconciliation, can we begin to glimpse a broader history, a deeper meaning.

Mission: True peace only comes from God. As His children we are sent to create true peace in our heart and in the lives of others. (YH)

JOYFUL MYSTERIES

  1. The Annunciation of the Angel to Mary
“Hail, thou that art highly favored, the Lord is with thee: fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.” (Luke 1:28b,30b-31)

Send Your angels as You sent the Angel Gabriel to proclaim the good news of the birth of Your Son to Mother Mary. Enable us to be always grateful for the life You have granted and to rejoice in carrying out the mission that You give to each of us, so that we can be the witnesses of Your joyful tidings, like the Angel Gabriel. May Your joy fill the earth. We ask this through the intercession of Lord Christ and our Savior. Amen.

Fill the heart of Your people in this continent with hope, so they can give strength and share the good news to each other, especially during the pandemic. And may Your people in this continent be able to take care of each other, as You have always been protecting us. We ask this through the intercession of Lord Christ and our Savior. Amen.
