Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe
World Youth Day
Eze. 34:11-12,15-17; Ps. 23:1-2a,2b-3,5-6; 1Cor. 15:20-26,28; Matt. 25:31-46.
Happy Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe! And we are finishing one circle of the liturgical year. Today’s Gospel is really interesting for us to ponder. When we celebrate the Solemnity of Jesus Christ as the King of the Universe, we should ask ourselves if Jesus Christ is indeed a King for us. How far is Jesus’ position in my life and how far far has He become a King who reigns my life?
In summarizing the essence of the reflection in this Gospel, the message that touches me the most is: “I said to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” As Christians, we are always reminded that God’s love is never inseparable from the love of others. And when we honestly accept that Jesus Christ, the Son of God who incarnates into humans to this world, is the King of the Universe, we should allow our lives to be led by Him. This awareness will change our mindset and perspective of others.
Reflecting on how God becomes the King in our lives as well as seeing Him, as described by the Prophet Ezekiel in the first reading, as the Shepherd who seeks and protects His lambs, is indeed tremendously beautiful. God will always be on our side and will always love us unconditionally, regardless of our condition and situation.
Dear brothers and sisters, let’s gratefully celebrate the Solemnity of Jesus Christ, King of the Universe by allowing ourselves to truly be guided by His love. And through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the people of our surroundings, especially those we love, may feel the presence of God who reigns our lives. God bless.

DAILY DEDICATED PRAYER
Lord, our Father, I present my today prayer, thought, word, work, joy, and sorrow in unity with Your Son, Jesus Christ, who always presents Himself in the Eucharist for the salvation of the world. May the Holy Spirit animating Jesus, also be my guidance and strength today so that I am ready to be the witness of Your love.
Together with St. Mary, Mother of Jesus, and the Church, in particular, I present my prayer for our Pope and apostle prayer of the Indonesian Church of this month:
For the Pope
We pray for the Holy Father; as he fulfills his mission, may he continue to accompany the flock entrusted to him, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
For Sexual Violence
We pray that the ecclesiastical institutions can create a safe environment and sense of security and also enforce the protocol that can prevent sexual violence against the weak and vulnerable.
Amen.
