Mission: To Be The Hands of Blessing

“If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
(Luke 11:13)

Apostolic Letter Patris Corde: Only the Lord can give us the strength needed to accept life as it is, with all its contradictions, frustrations and disappointments.

We have knows a lot of saints. They have shown an example of sincere faith, love and devotion to God. Their lives are dedicated to God and others. That is what we have to emulate in our daily lives. They are the extension of God’s hand and the blessing to those in need. A well-known example is Mother Teresa from Calcutta. She is a saint. She spent her life for the poor, sick, marginalized and those uncounted. She had been the hand of blessing for others. These all were the fruit of her love to God whom she knew and adored. The example of Jesus was rooted in Mother Teresa’s life, that is the basic of her work. Mother Teresa had successfully represented God’s true love and was the blessing for others. How about us?

Today the Church celebrates Mary, the Queen of the Holy Rosary. As a Catholic, we know the Rosary prayer very well. A simple prayer but it’s incredibly powerful. In this prayer, we can contemplate the mysteries of Jesus’ redemption which can be found in the five mysteries of Rosary. Mother Teresa always brought Rosary in herself as the sign of strength in her life.

The first reading talks about the triumph for the righteous. God is on the side of the righteous people who fear and love Him. They will be God’s loved inheritance because God loves those who are obedient and serve Him. Have we loved God by living in obedience, faith and full service to him? The God says: “But for you who revere my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.” (Ma. 4:2). Are we willing to be healed, cured and become blessing for others?

In today’s Gospel Jesus the Lord teaches us that we have to be initiative. The Lord will see all our efforts. We need to ask, seek and knock God’s heart, so we can get what we ask and seek. God will open His door if we knock in a correct way. Therefore, let’s ask for His blessings, so w can be healed and become the blessing to others. We are grateful for the blessing of life which the Lord gives us by accepting the life as it is, to give room to our contradictory, unexpected and disappointing part of our lives. As written in the document of Patris Corde, the Lord always give us strength and joy in our life. We have received them all free from the God, so let us share it free to others too. May our life become more blessings for those in need.

Mission: To live the life of blessing, as the God has first given us His blessing for free. (YH)
