Mission: Becoming A Leaven In Life

“And again he said: ‘To what should I compare the kingdom of God? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened’.”
(Luk. 13:20-21)

Apostolic Letter Patric Corde: From Saint Joseph , we must learn that same care and responsibility. We must learn to love the child and his mother, to love the sacraments and charity, to love the Church and the poor

The Lord never wants us to pursue and become holy alone. Kingdom of God is not exclusively opened to a certain VIP group. Kingdom of God is offered to everybody and it is our job as the disciples of Jesus to save all people, instead of focusing on ourselves.

If holiness can only be achieved from prayer, ritual and personal devotion, how can we become the yeast that leaven three measures of flour? To become the yeast, we must get out of ourselves, unite with the family, community and society. When we really blend with the three measures of flour, together with others we will transform and bear a new life (the bread). Our role as the yeast is to influence other people in accordance to Christian teaching we are living. When it happens, then we are ready to be called the leaven.

It is said in the Apostolic Letter Patris Corde that Joseph is our role model (as the yeast), as he took the responsibility and care of Mary and Jesus. We too should have the same attitude, to love the sacraments and charity, to love the Church, and to serve and love the poor.

Flour won’t be transformed into bread without leaven. Despite of its tiny yet powerless performance, but the leaven has extraordinary power in transforming the flour into bread, not only as delicious food but also a source of life. The parable of Jesus about the Kingdom of God would like to remind us that in our weak and limited self, there is the power of the Lord’s Spirit who can transform the life and human being.

Each of us is given the life and talent by the Lord. They are not to be kept and used selfishly for the sake of our interest and benefit. A leaven is meaningless if only kept unused in a container. Life loses its meaning if it is only lived for oneself without sharing it to others. The Lord does not create us alone, but together with all other human beings. There is a life together. Our presence with the talents we have should be able to help the life together.

Mission: Life will be meaningful when we are able to use our talents and develop it for renewing the life together. Being a yeast means to leaven or renew a life. (BIL)

For Evangelization intention:
Apostles of Missionary: We pray for all the baptised to be involved in proclaiming the Gospel, presenting themselves to carry out the mission and be ready to become the witnesses animating the spirit of Gospel. We pray…

For Indonesian Churches intention:
Clean water: May we be more wise in using the clean water. We pray…

Special Intention for the year of St. Joseph:
Give us an open heart, like St. Joseph, so we may love Mother Mary and her Son for the success of “missio” or mission of restoring human love in responding Father’s mercy. We pray…

MISSIONARY ROSARY PRAYER

SORROWFUL MYSTERIES

  1. The Agony of Jesus in the Garden
“O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” (Matt. 26:39)

Prayer is intended for the continent of Asia (yellow bead)
Father, with Mary Mother of Evangelization, Mother of all nations, we pray for our people living in the continent of Asia, who have experienced many problems during this pandemic. Many fall into sadness, despair and are unable to face the loss of job, property or the beloved one. Just as Jesus was willing to surrender and pray to You near His death, grant us the grace of faith and self surrender to everyone in our continent. Enable us to realize that in the time of trials like this, we have to remember to surrender to You and persevere in prayer, so that our hope and faith can remain firm and alerted.
We ask this through the intercession of Lord Christ and our Savior. Amin.

Mary Mother of Evangelization, Mother of all Nations, pray and protect us, your children!

  1. The Scourging of Jesus at the pillar
“They smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him. And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from Him, and put his own clothes on him.” (Mark 15:19-20a)

Prayer is intended for the continent of Australia and Oceania (blue beads)
Father, with Mary Mother of Evangelization, Mother of all nations, we pray for your people in the continent of Oceania-Australia. May You give strength and comfort to those who are persecuted for their faith in You. Despite of being scourged, mocked, spat on, beaten, even stripped naked, He just kept silent, no repaying the evil with evil, because of the great love in Him. May this example be able to be copied by every one who experiences suffering and injustice from their fellow people. And may You grant every human being with the heart of mercy, so they can treat each other with love, respect and justice. We ask this through the intercession of Lord Christ and our Savior. Amen.

Mary Mother of Evangelization, Mother of all Nations, pray and protect us, your children!

  1. The Crowning with Thorns
“They platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his head. And began to salute him, Hail King of the Jews!” (Mark 15:17-18)

Prayer is intended for the Continent of Europe (white beads)
Father, with Mary, Mother of Evangelization, Mother of all nations, we pray for your people in the continent of Europe. Sometimes sufferings and traumatic experiences become an obstacle to human’s faith to keep on believing that You are always with them and their lives. Jesus, Your Son, is not missed from the suffering caused by humans, despite he possesses the status of the Son of the King. Learning from Him, may all the people in the continent of Europe are enabled to survive from the suffering and traumatic events that they have to pass while remaining firm in their faith, believing that You will never abandon your People. We ask this through the intercession of Lord Christ and our Savior. Amen.

Mary Mother of Evangelization, Mother of all Nations, pray and protect us, your children!

  1. The Carrying of the Cross
“And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha.” (John 19:16b)

Prayer is intended for the continent of America (red beads)
Father, with Mary Mother of Evangelization, Mother of all nations, we pray for your people in the continent of America. May they be enabled to faithfully carry the cross of life in the world. Cross is sometimes rejected and avoided. We, the humans, tend to find the happiness, prosperity and eternity, instead of suffering, adversity and death. Jesus Himself carried His cross in faith and obedience for He believed and accepted all Your will. May the people of America who believe in Christ be ready to face the cross, suffering and death, accepting the cross as inseparable part of the identity as a Christian. We ask this through the intercession of Lord Christ and our Savior. Amen.

Mary Mother of Evangelization, Mother of all Nations, pray and protect us, your children!

  1. The Crucifixion and death of Jesus
“And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father into thy hands I comment my spririt; and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.” (Luke 23:46)

Prayer is intended for the continent of Africa (green beads)
Father, with Mary Mother of Evangelization, Mother of all nations, we pray for your people in the continent of Africa. Lately many deaths happened caused by Covid-19 pandemic. Death is often seen not only as a loss but also a bad incident. Humans are attached too tightly to their lives and the possessions, that they become stuttered when it’s time for letting go and returning all the possessions to You, the Owner of Life. May You enable Your people in the continent of Africa especially those who suffer from the loss of their closed ones, to accept the death and remember that eternal life You promises is not from the world, but in heaven in our next life. We believe that life is not destroyed by death, but it is transformed. We ask this through the intercession of Lord Christ and our Savior. Amen.

Mary Mother of Evangelization, Mother of all Nations, pray and protect us, your children!
